   GridCC

GridCC is a European Commision (DG INFSO - M) FP6 Specific Targeted Research Projects -  STREP.  The project aims to incoporate sensor measurements and run time control to the Grid alongside with compute and storage resources. Many features that can be regarded as desirable within other Grid projects become essential when instrumentation is introduced and so must be addresse by the GridCC project. These include the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in remote locations, guaranteed quality of service and advanced reservation of resources. The GridCC project will produce a generic solution for instrumentation on a Grid. We have a number of exemplar instrumentation use cases selected to cover the full range of system requirements. We plan to implement our solution on a limited number of these instrument use cases.

Participants of GridCC are:
  1. Instituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare, INFN, Italy, Coordinator
  2. Institute of Accelerating Systems & Applications, IASA, Greece
  3. Brunel University, UK
  4. Consorzio Interuniversiatario per Telecomunicazioni, CNIT, Italy
  5. Sincrotrone Trieste S.C.P.A, ELETTRA, Italy
  6. IBM Research, Israel
  7. Imperial College of Science, Technology & Medicine, UK
  8. Instituto di Metodologie per l'Analisi ambientale - Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, IMAA, Italy
