The NETwork Management & Optimal DEsign Laboratory ( Contact Info) is established within the School of Electrical & Computer Engineering of National Technical University of Athens ( NTUA). It is also affiliated with the Institute of Communication & Computer Systems ( ICCS) at NTUA and the Institute of Accelerating Systems & Applications ( IASA) of the University of Athens ( UoA) & NTUA.
NETMODE supports undergraduate and graduate teaching & research in Distributed Network/System Management including:
- INTERNET technologies, Next Generation Networks (NGN), Future INTERNET
- Modeling & simulation of queuing systems
- Legacy & novel management architectures for high-speed optical communications
- Wireless networks
- Ad-hoc, mesh & sensor networks
- Network security
- Distributed storage & processing systems (Computational Grids, Cloud Services)
- Analysis & planning in deregulated telecommunications markets
NETMODE is actively involved in R&D projects sponsored by Greek and European Research Initiatives.
NETMODE hosts the PlanetLab Site for NTUA. PlanetLab is an international emulation testbed initiated by Princeton University. It consists of more than 800 nodes (dedicated Linux Servers) in more than 400 sites worldwide, creating a federated overlay network over the Internet for testing novel ideas on distributed applications and services. NETMODE's facilities belong to the PlanetLab Europe part of the federation, administered by UPMC - Sorbonne Universités. Ανακοινώθηκαν οι βαθμοί της κανονικής Εξέτασης για το μάθημα "Διαχείριση Δικτύων - Ευφυή Δίκτυα" Η διδασκαλία του μεταπτυχιακού μαθήματος «Αυτοοργανούμενα Ad-Hoc Δίκτυα» θα πραγματοποιείται κάθε Τετάρτη 3.00-6.00 μ.μ. στην αίθουσα 101 (Νέο Κτίριο Ηλεκτρολόγων). Η έναρξη του μαθήματος θα γίνει στις 21 Μαρτίου 2012.
